8/31/18 Parent Newsletter

Dear Parents,                                                                 August 31, 2018

It has been a wonderful 1st three days of school. We have enjoyed getting to know the students and having them get to know us!  It has also been a time of getting to know and practicing all the routines that are so important to a successful  year.  Some of these include transitioning from one activity to the next, what the schedule looks like and what to expect, design teamwork challenges, making our book bags, our goals for the year, warm fuzzies and so much more!

I think that both Miss Carolyn and I can say, this is a really wonderful group of students!  They have so much enthusiasm for learning, kindness and compassion for each other,  and a real sense of who they are as students and as a classroom community.  We are very excited for our school year.  I think the students are as well.

Next week we will continue with routines and getting to know each other.  We will also begin to introduce some academics into our schedule.  These first several days are so important to set the tone for the entire school and so we put the necessary time in now!!

Below are just a few pictures from this week including our teamwork challenge:  create a new use for a common item,  and a couple of decorating our new books bags.

We hope you all have a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!  The weather looks wonderful!  Below is also a link to our daily schedule and it is also a permanent link on the blog.  If you haven't subscribed yet click this link to do so: 4th Grade Blog
